§ Sponsor a forum to generate discussion, reflection and action when the Holy Father, Catholic bishops of the United States, or Catholic bishops of Minnesota issue a social teaching document; or, sponsor a forum about a pressing social issue, e.g., threats to human dignity and life, the death penalty, agricultural justice, hunger, health care, affordable housing, rural poverty, tax fairness.

§Promote the public policy agenda of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, the Minnesota Catholic Conference, and the Joint Religious Legislative Coalition.

 

 

§ Determine practical ways to better integrate Catholic social teaching in parish liturgy, and catechetical/formation efforts.

§  Foster participation in direct service efforts in your area, e.g., food shelves, meals on wheels, Birthright, respite and hospice care, Habitat for Humanity.

§ Foster participation in county, township and city governance.  Support and develop local social structures that address poverty and promote the common good.

§ Develop means of support within the parish, to assist parish members and others in crisis or facing difficulties.

§  Work to transform unjust social structures and systems on local, state, national, and international levels.

§ Promote support of the Church’s missionary and international relief efforts.
