assists in the formation and development of area/parish social concerns committees; promotes Catholic social teaching, works of mercy, advocacy and action for justice, and pro-life activity; assists area/parishes in their efforts to strengthen Christian marriage and family life; promotes preparation for marriage, marriage enrichment, and family spirituality; and provides referrals to programs like natural family planning, Marriage Encounter and Retrouvaille.

HISPANIC MINISTRY
assists parishes by fostering effective and appropriate ministry to Hispanic Catholics including: migrant ministry; resident Hispanic ministry; leadership training and support for professional and volunteer ministers. The celebration of Mass in Spanish throughout the diocese is coordinated by this office.

CATHOLIC CHARITIES
initiates and oversees counseling and related services at regional locations throughout the diocese. With direction from an advisory committee, Catholic Charities also assesses the need for social services that might be offered in the diocese or in collaboration with others in Minnesota.
