The 13th annual New Ulm Diocesan Council of Catholic "Woman of the Year" award will be presented at the diocesan convention in Winsted, MN, April 24, 2004. This award recognizes an outstanding Council of Catholic Woman in the New Ulm diocese as one who has carried on the mission of Christ through her family, church, community, and Council of Catholic Women. To qualify the woman must be 18 years or older, Catholic, registered in a New Ulm diocese parish, a member of a paid affiliate of the NUDCCW and has not won the award in the past. Parishes may submit more than one name. Current diocesan Council of Catholic Women voting board members and past recipients are not eligible. Nominations must be presented on the official recommendation form to be eligible and must be one hand-written or typed page. All others will be returned to be redone and resubmitted.

Nominees will be judged on family commitment including education of her children in faith, prayer and virtues; giving moral, physical and spiritual support to parents, etc; how she has participated in church activities, committees, and needs; her involvement in community activities, committees, and needs; and how she has been involved in the Council of Catholic Women on all levels as well as the number of years she has been active.
