Together in Communion, a lay leader formation program, begins this month

In collaboration with Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota in Winona, the Diocese of New Ulm will offer a six-session lay leader formation program beginning in September.

The program is available to past participants of the Foundations program and certified lay ecclesial ministers. New applicants can be accepted if they have a sufficient faith formation, are involved in a parish or area ministry as a staff member or on the religion faculty, and are nominated by the pastor or pastoral administrator.

The program will consider central Catholic doctrines in their historical expressions.  Significant eras in the history of the Church will be explored. The study will include key spiritualities and the saints who lived them. The program concludes with an examination of lay holiness and each participant’s development of spiritual practices.
