Knights Supreme Convention held in August

The 124th Annual Knights of Columbus Supreme Convention was held in Orlando, Florida August 1-3, 2006. The theme for the convention was "Charity, Unity, Fraternity - Living Deus Caritas Est. Ten delegates and three non-delegates, along with spouses, represented Minnesota. Bishop John C. Nienstedt attended along with Archbishop Harry Flynn of the Minneapolis/St. Paul archdiocese; Bishop Victor Balke of the Crookston diocese; and Bishop Dennis Schnurr of the Duluth diocese.

The highlight of the convention is always the opening Mass where several Cardinals and approximately 100 archbishops and bishops are in attendance. Also of great importance was the attendance for the first time of six Knights from Poland, where the Knights of Columbus has recently extended membership.
