Two
major events planned for next month in the Archdiocese
2005 Eucharistic Congress
The
Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis has planned a closing celebration of the Year of the
Eucharist, the 2005 Eucharistic Congress, to be held October 7-8 at the St.
Paul RiverCentre.
A Eucharistic Congress is a gathering of the faithful to celebrate
and honor this great sacrament, the source and summit of Christian life. Keynote
presentations will be given by noted Catholic authors Dr. Scott Hahn, Jeff
Cavins, and the apostle of the Divine Mercy messages to St.
Faustina, Fr. George
Kosicki. All are
invited to attend. For more information visit www.theheartofjesus.org,
or call: (651) 488-YOTE.
2005 Charismatic Renewal Conference
On October 7-9, 2005, Bishops from four states who have had close contact
with the Catholic Charismatic Renewal are gathering at the Earle Brown Heritage Center in Minneapolis to share their reflections and insights about the
Renewal. The conference entitled, "Bishops Speak to the Renewal,” will
offer fresh direction, encouragement and adjustment. Their observations will
enable participants to more fully respond to the Lord's call to His people.
Saturday's sessions include
parallel tracks specifically designed for the laity, priests and deacons, along
with a special morning forum for religious women. Bishops who will be speaking
are: Bishop Sam Jacobs,
Louisiana; Archbishop Harry J. Flynn, St. Paul/Mpls.; Bishop Thomas J. Flanagan, Texas; and Bishop Robert J. Hermann, Missouri. For more information, email: joleneccro@usfamily.net
or call (621) 721-2543. Sponsored by the Minnesota Catholic Charismatic Renewal
Office, Minneapolis.
