Project Tomorrow program for teens
Green Valley - The St. Clotilde Youth of Green Valley attended "Project Tomorrow", a program at the Prairie Land Correctional Facility at Appleton, MN. The tour gave youth an awareness of prison life. The inmates presenting the program were hoping to give the youth a better chance by sharing their personal experiences.
The team of carefully screened inmates that present "Project Tomorrow" are trained presenters. They discussed high-risk issues such as poor family relations, alcohol, drugs, poor self-esteem, and poor attitudes towards school and academics.
During the sessions, the inmates identify the processes that have made positive changes in their lives. The selected inmates have accepted full responsibility for their crimes and are interested in helping teens make positive choices.
The program was excellent! "Project Tomorrow" can be an intense program, but leaves a definite and positive impact on those attending.
