Time to head to CCW Fall Gatherings!
by Lila Schmidt
I invite you to attend your New Ulm Diocesan Council of Catholic Women Region Fall Gathering. I remember way back when I first attended Fall Gatherings. We met at a church and took off in car loads. We visited along the way and had fun deciding who was going to attend which shareshop. If our Commission Coordinator wasnt able to attend, someone attended her shareshop and brought the materials back for her. We had so much to talk about on the way home - planning how we would do the projects in our parishes. We were excited about the ideas we were given and doing what we could to make this world a better place for our families. What happened?
The Fall Gatherings have seemed to have gotten the reputation as something just for the Officers and Commission Coordinators. Its not! By attending Fall Gatherings I learned what the Commissions do and developed an understanding of what Council of Catholic Women is about. Go to the Fall Gathering, fill an open position or attend a shareshop of your choice and then take the next term as Coordinator. Go just for the fun of it. Get the cars and drivers lined up. Ill see you there!
Lila Schmidt of Marshall, MN, is the President of the Council of Catholic Women.
