Diocesan Staff

Effective July 1, 2000

Mark Kemmeter will serve the Diocese of New Ulm as the new Coordinator of Diocesan Staff. Mark will also coordinate the Diocesan Pastoral Council and the work of the Committee on Parishes. Mark comes from the Archidiocese of Milwaukee, WI, where he served as a pastoral associate, business manager, director of religious education, and lecturer in theology. He has a Doctorate of Ministry from Mundelein with special emphasis on ministry formation and planning; and a Master of Theological Studies from St. Francis Seminary, Milwaukee. Mark is also certified as a parish director for the archdiocese, which is the equivalent to our pastoral administrator position.

Mark is married. He and his wife Kathleen, who is an attorney, have three children.

Effective August 1, 2000

Duane Koble will serve as the new director of the Office of Finance for the Diocese of New Ulm. Duane come from the Diocese of Bismarck, South Dakota where he served as parish administrator of the Church of Corpus Christi.

Duane comes with a background in parish and school business administration, stewardship, human development, pastoral studies, and spirituality.

Duane is presently pursuing a Doctorate of Philosophy in Organizational Leadership from the University of St. Thomas. He holds a Master of Arts Degree in Pastoral Studies and Spirituality from St. Mary’s, Winona, MN, and a Master of Science in Education Edministration from Aberdeen State University.

Duane is married and his wife, Joan, is a teacher, musician, and liturgist.

Sr. Donna Wermus, SSND, to serve as Pastoral Administrator of St. John-Assumption in Faxon Township.

Effective August 1, 2000 - Sacramental Minister

Rev. Bernard J. Steiner to serve as Sacramental Minister of St. John-Assumption in Faxon Township while continuing to serve as Pastor of St. Brendan in Green Isle and Sacramental Minister of St. Thomas in Jessenland.
