NCYC
this month in Atlanta
diocese ranks first in attendance!
by Sr. Margaret McHugh
Twenty-five thousand Catholic youth from all over the
country will descend on Atlanta, Georgia
October 27- 29 to attend the National Catholic Youth Convention (NCYC). Those
in attendance from the Diocese of New Ulm will be Bishop John C. Nienstedt who
will lead 260 participants, more than any other diocese in our region!
NCYC is the largest ongoing Catholic gathering in the United
States.
It’s a wonderful opportunity for the church to reach out, evangelize and
celebrate our young people and their growing faith. The biennial event is especially geared to
high-school age youth. The Conference will begin on Thursday and will finish
with the concluding Mass Saturday evening.
This year’s theme song is, “Winds of Change,” by Curtis Stephan and
Jesse Manibusan.
For further information contact the diocesan Office of Youth
Ministry, (507) 359-2966; email: cblickem@dnu.org. To view a promotional video
