Liturgical
Musicians Workshop scheduled for November at Holy Redeemer, Marshall
Marshall, MN - The New Ulm Diocesan Office of Worship is sponsoring a
Liturgical Musicians Workshop on Saturday, November 5 at Holy Redeemer Parish,
Marshall. The presenter is Jeanne Cotter, a liturgical musician and
inspirational speaker as well as a successful secular and spiritual performer
and recording artist. The workshop,
entitled "The Empowered Singer" will focus on the ministry of leaders
of sung prayer in worship, including cantors, song leaders, choirs and presiders.
Cotter, originally from Minnesota, has written and recorded numerous liturgical music
collections with GIA Publications and OCP. She is the author of the highly
acclaimed text, Keyboard Improvisation for the Liturgical Musician (GIA). She
has been active as a "team member" for the North American Forum on
the Catechumenate and has been the master teacher and
coordinator of the Keyboard and Ensemble Schools for the National Association of Pastoral Musicians
(NPM). In addition to concerts, ministry workshops, parish missions, retreats,
convention keynotes and breakout sessions, Cotter conducts "Coming Home
Retreats".
Cotter will present a concert
at 7:00
p.m. that evening to
conclude the workshop. Those wishing to attend the workshop will need to
