CCW
Recognition Sunday October 9
Bishop John C. Nienstedt
signs the Proclamation declaring Sunday, October 9, 2005, Council of Catholic Women (CCW) Recognition Sunday
in the New Ulm diocese. The New Ulm Diocesan Council of Catholic Women is
a part of the National Council of Catholic Women, an organization established
by the Bishops of the United States some eighty-five years ago to offer women the
opportunity to increase their knowledge of the church, strengthen their
leadership skills, and deepen their spirituality through prayer and service.
CCW Recognition Sunday is the day to highlight the activities and leadership
carried out by Catholic women. Parishes throughout the diocese will plan their
observance of this date with the help of their local Council of Catholic Women
Church Commission Chair.
