First annual Diocesan Ministries Appeal kickoff

by Wayne Pelzel

Director of Development

Last month, as a member of the Diocese of New Ulm, you should have received in the mail a flyer explaining the upcoming annual Diocesan Ministries Appeal - Hope for Years to Come/Esperanza para los Años Venidos.

November 4 and 5

On the weekend of November 4 and 5 each parish in the diocese will show a DVD explaining the goal of this year’s appeal as well as the four important diocesan ministries that will be supported through your gift.

November 11 and 12

The following weekend, November 11 and 12, pastoral leaders in every parish will deliver a homily talking about the annual appeal.

Appeal Kickoff

November 18 and 19

This first annual Diocesan Ministries Appeal officially begins in parishes the weekend of November 18 and 19 (Commitment Sunday).  On this weekend, Bishop John C. Nienstedt will present the  homily either in an audio or visual format. Appeal envelopes will be available to fill out at this time for making a financial commitment to the appeal.

Referring to the bible 1Peter 4:10  As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God’s varied grace.”

With that in mind it is hoped that every parishioner will support the Diocesan Ministries Appeal in whatever way they are able. It is only through your gift that we can offer Hope for Years to Come.
