Needy
benefit from Winsted youth community service
In September, Holy Trinity,
Winsted 10th graders, Kristin Kahle, Breanna Ollig, Ray Roeges and Bridget Tussing,
traveled to the McCleod County Food Shelf in Glencoe
to assist in re-stocking the shelves with food as a way to complete service
hours. Holy Trinity High
School
requires each grade to complete volunteer hours for the community as part of
the curriculum. Student in grades 7-8th
must complete 1 hour of service per quarter; 9-10th graders, 2 hours per
quarter; and 11-12th graders are required to give four hours of their time per
quarter in service to the community. The students volunteered for two hours
unpacking boxes and helping to unload a semi-truck full of food for those in
need. Each month, Mr.
& Mrs. Wally Kerber to drive the students to the
food shelf in Glencoe as they volunteer there as well.
