Published author to address DCCW spring convention

by Joanne  Pohland

I am happy to announce that Matthew Kelly, a young, dynamic  author and speaker, will give the keynote address at the 2005 New Ulm Diocesan Council of Catholic Women Spring Convention to be held Saturday, April 23 at Holy Rosary Parish in North Mankato.

Kelly has inspired people of all ages and from all walks of life to “become-the-best-version-of-themselves.” His book, The Rhythm of Life:  An Antidote for Our Busy Age is a powerful message rejecting the chaotic lifestyle written with common sense, humor, and heart.

In his book, Kelly says, “The secret of life is to discover who you truly are as an individual.  The art of living is to be that person” (p. 49).  In fact, he goes on to say, “the will of God is the perfection of creation” (p. 74). In this book, Matthew Kelly outlines simple steps and everyday actions that create a way of life-a lifestyle-that is conducive to the well-being of the whole person:  physically, emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually.

On November 15, the new and revised version of The Rhythm of Life: Living Everyday with Passion & Purpose, published by Simon and Schuster, will be available in bookstores everywhere. If you or someone you know is too busy, constantly overwhelmed, needs more energy, or is looking for some direction in his or her life, this may be the book for you or for someone you love.

Mark your calendars for April 23 and plan to join others from throughout the diocese to hear this dynamic speaker. I think you will find it well worth your time as you journey to become the best possible version of the person God created you to become.  May God bless you.
