The first Bishop Lucker Lecture will be held on Thursday evening, March 20, 2003 at the Performing Arts Center, Redwood Area Schools in Redwood Falls. The Most Reverend Robert F. Morneau, Auxiliary Bishop of the Diocese of Green Bay, will speak on "Salt, Leaven and Light: A Vatican II Spirituality." The evening begins at 7:30 p.m. and will include the presentation of the Diocesan Distinguished Service Awards by the Most Reverend John C. Nienstedt.
A reception will follow at 8:45 p.m. There is limited seating for the event and tickets will be required. The ticket cost is $5 and will be available by mail. A ticket request form will be published in the January issue of The Prairie Catholic. Chartered buses will also be available in many of the diocesan regions.
Bishop Morneau has recently published a new book, Pennies From Heaven. The book blends down-to-earth humor with profound spiritual insight. He shows how poetry and art lift the human mind and imagination and can help transform the human person into a sign of redemption. Bishop Morneau has authored numerous books as well as conducted retreats and lectured extensively throughout the United States.
