Shopping for the food shelf!

NUACS students take part in Lenten service project

New Ulm - Holy Trinity Middle School students, faculty, and staff donated money during Lent for the New Ulm Area Food Shelf.  A total of $1,837.29 was donated this year.  Besides a Lenten project of giving to those in need, the students also learned lessons in economics while shopping for a good value.  The student shoppers spent $1,665.07 to purchase groceries and saved $620 in coupons and discounts.  With the extra buying power $2,285.07 in groceries were delivered.  The remaining cash was donated to the New Ulm Food Shelf.  This is the seventeenth year of this Lenten Service Project with a cumulative total of $39,907.14.
