Christian
Clowning at Holy Rosary in
The 10th grade religious
education class at the Church of the Holy Rosary in
With the help of local
Christian Clowns, students received a background of Christian Clowning,
observed a skit, learned that we ‘die” to our gift of speech when the white
face is worn, and become ‘Fools for Christ’ in serving his people. The unit
culminated in a prayer service of the Stations of the Cross. By participating
in this special unit during Lent, it brought students a little closer to
understanding Jesus’ love and mercy.
This was not just a
performance but a prayer-aid for their spiritual growth and for people in the
pews. The 7, 8, 9, and 11 grades were invited along with the parish to the
performance.
