"
Teamwork" is key to CCW success!by Ellen Nester
Do you remember the story of the small boy flying the large, beautiful kite?
The Mayor of the City was so impressed with the beauty and agility of the kite that he wanted to reward the person responsible. An argument ensued with the boy, the wind and the kites tail all claiming the honor. Only the smartest person realized that all three worked together to accomplish the task.
The New Ulm Diocese Council of Catholic Women organizations also shine because they are made up of many willing hands. This is the time of year that many of our Council of Catholic Women groups are enlisting new officers and commission coordinators. Hopefully your organization has by-laws which define responsibilities...who would want a job without good understanding of its purpose!
I encourage you to know your gifts and to offer your help to your parish Council of Catholic Women!
Eight commission/committee chairs sit on the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women Board, each having a specific aim. Since our mission statement is "to support, empower, and educate all Catholic women in spirituality, leadership and service" we have chosen to schedule three nights of Leadership Training.
These evenings will begin with Mass at 6:00 p.m., followed by supper and training. All the region and parish officers and commission/committee coordinators are urged to attend one of the evenings.
(Please pre-register with your parish or region president so we have an accurate count for dinner.) Our plan is to preview each commission/committee and to brainstorm ways of accomplishing goals. We are honoring the request from last year to allow more time in small groups...i.e. all the Reverence Life people working together.
