Catholic Communication Campaign the weekend of May 17-18 in parishes throughout the diocese

Parishes in the Diocese of New Ulm will take up the collection for the Catholic Communication Campaign (CCC) on the weekend of May 17-18. The CCC supports the Church's efforts to proclaim the Good News using television, radio, video tape, print and Internet resources. The theme for this year's collection is "Share a life of love and peace. Spread the Good News."

The Catholic Communication Campaign has produced and distributed a public service announcement series in Spanish and English for radio and television stations and networks. Another project of the CCC is the weekly program Catholic Radio Weekly. It can be heard in the Diocese of New Ulm on Sundays on KNUJ-AM 860, New Ulm and 94.7 FM Country, Springfield at 8:30 a.m.; on KLQP FM 92.1 Madison/Dawson at 5:30 p.m.; and KDUZ-AM 1260 Hutchinson at 11:30 a.m. Catholic Radio Weekly is also available anytime on the Internet at the web site for the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops www.usccb.org/ccc/catholicradio.htm.

Another service CCC offers is Movie Reviews which provides movie goers an objective review of current movies. It is popular with parents trying to find good information on a film before their children see it. Check out Movie Reviews at the USCCB web site www.usccb.org/movies.

Vacationing families and individuals will find the Mass Times web site, supported by the CCC, is another valuable service. The Mass Times web site provides information about parishes around the United States. Mass Times can be found on the Internet at www.masstimes.org.

Funds collected for the Catholic Communication Campaign are divided evenly between the local diocese and the national Communications Campaign. Catholics are encouraged to be as generous as possible in supporting this vitally important ministry of the Church. The "Catholic Communication Campaign is how the Good News gets around."
