Yawl come to Nashville!

by Lila Schmidt

The 50th National Council of Catholic Women Convention will be held in Nashville, TN September 27 through the 30th. This year the convention will be headquartered at the Renaissance Hotel in downtown Nashville.

The vote at this convention carries a personal interest for members of the Council of Catholic Women in the New Ulm diocese. Two women from our Province which includes all the dioceses of the State of Minnesota, South Dakota and North Dakota, are running for nomination: Maureen Willenbring from the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis is running for the National President and Geri Allen from the St. Cloud diocese is running for the Nominating Committee.

During the convention, National Council of Catholic Women attendees will explore issues brought about by Shaping our Future such as: regional consultants, by-law proposals on individual memberships, regional meetings replacing General Assembly and National Council of Catholic Women Vice Presidents.

The convention will conclude with the installation of our next Province Director.
