A first grade classroom had a poster on the wall with the words, Faith is like electricity. You can’t see it, but you can see the light. A strong faith, like electricity, permeates the light of Christ in a culture and society that sometimes can be very dark. It inspires rather than conforms to the dictates of the times.

We are called to be true to what we believe and to be energized by a faith kept firm in spite of conflict and injustices. The Church will live on just as it has for two thousand years. As we begin the third millennium, let us keep the faith, and let our light shine. We can make a difference.
