25th anniversary of youth rally set for April 7
This year there is a lot of excitement expected as twenty-five years of gathering New Ulm diocesan youth for this event takes place.
The schedule begins informally with registration starting at 11:30 a.m.; the Eclypse Band beginning at 12:00 p.m. and the official start of the program at 12:30 p.m. The rest of the day will include Chris Padgett as the keynote speaker; mixing and meeting new/old friends; Liturgy with Bishop John C. Nienstedt; concert with Scarecrow and Tinmen, a band from Florida; and food and a dance with music provided by TK Sound from Minneapolis.
During this day we will welcome back some past Diocesan Youth Council members from over the years. It will be a day to celebrate our faith as young people in the Catholic church today. The Scarecrow and Tinmen band will get people off their seats. They have shared their music at the National Catholic Youth Conference in St. Louis and most recently in Indianapolis. The theme of Follow Me, which came from the popes message to young people this year, gives a challenge to the faith of all people. They will be challenged to live what they believe.
The day will include lots of fun and inspiration for all 9-12th grade youth and their leaders. Registration for this event is being handled through parish youth leaders. The event is sponsored by the diocesan Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministry, Bill Casey, director.
