Annual DRE Lenten retreat to be held at Schoenstatt Center Sleepy Eye

by JoAnn Borchert

The title for this retreat will be "That All May be One." Jesus prayed that all may be one. Season 4 of RENEW 2000 is named Reconciliation. This season of RENEW 2000 will address Ecumenical Unity. We are called to unity, to recognize that Christians hold the same faith but express it differently. We need to develop a change of heart and be open to dialogue in a sense of reconciliation. Often we harbor a lack of charity in our attitudes toward one another. We need to make an examination of conscience about our attitudes toward one another, which is our Lenten challenge. During this season we will be asking ourselves, "What are we ready to repent from?" These issues of unity enter into all areas of our lives: at home, in the parish, and in the work place. This retreat will focus on developing this topic.

The annual Religious Education Lenten Retreat will take place on March 29 at the Schoenstatt Center in Sleepy Eye. Sister Carolyn Puccio will direct the day’s activities. She is a member of the Diocesan Ecumenical Committee. She has a Masters degree in Religious Education and one in Counseling. She is presently the liturgy coordinator at St. Anastasia’s parish in Hutchinson and a practicing counselor.

This retreat is for Directors of Religious Education, catechists, small group leaders, and all persons interested in these issues. Everyone is welcome.

The retreat will start with gathering at 9:30 a.m. and close at 3:00 p.m. The cost will be $10, which includes a meal. To register contact your parish DRE or call JoAnn Borchert at the Catholic Pastoral Center, (507) 359-2966.
