A 3,000 mile adventure for those in need!

Last month, nine men from Sleepy Eye and New Ulm embarked on an 8-day, 3,000-mile journey to San Lucas, Guatemala. Their mission was to drive 3 pickup trucks and a mini-van to the Diocese of New Ulm Mission parish of San Lucas Toliman. Making the trip were Tim Rahe of New Ulm; Fr. Brian Oestreich, pastor of St. Mary's, Sleepy Eye; and Sleepy Eye residents Dean Ibberson, Lee Ibberson, Wayne Novotny, Perry Pietig, Paul Theisen, Tim Wait and John Schmid. The vehicles were purchased from money donated by people who had traveled to San Lucas through Mission Retreats organized by Fr. Oestreich. Two of the vehicles will be used by medical professionals to assist in the health care in the fincas and  the other vehicles will be used in the daily operation of the mission projects and volunteer transportation.
