NUACS Snofest brings out the "fun" in their "fun"draising efforts!
For New Ulm Area Catholic Schools (NUACS), the annual National Catholic Schools Week is preceded by a kick-off family supper, and ends with a Snofest Night of fun. A ham supper was held on Saturday, Jan. 24, and included bingo and sheephead as well as many games. The NUACS Pep Band also performed. NUACS students worked at games, bused, set, and waited tables, and helped with the clean up. A special room was set aside for Cathedral High School students who could play card games, visit, and enjoy each others company. Many parents brought their very young children to this event. They enjoyed the games and won many prizes. The evening was an experience of family and NUACS community.
NUACS Snofest Night, for adults only, was held Saturday, Jan. 31. It was a grand party with live music, unique games, great food, and three types of auctions. The weather cooperated and attendance was outstanding. NUACS Snofest offered a Big Ticket raffle with a top prize of $1,000 cash. CHS students helped to sell the tickets and had a goal of $10,000 which they exceeded.
Money raised from this yearly event is used for operating expenses and other needs of the New Ulm Area Catholic Schools.
