JRLC 2004 Day on the Hill scheduled for March 11

St. Paul, MN - The Joint Religious Legislative Coalition (JRLC) 2004 Day on the Hill, will be held Thursday, March 11, 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The day will begin with issue briefings (affordable housing, building the common good, child care, death penalty, economic justice, health care, tax fairness and more...) as well as in-district work at the RiverCentre in downtown St. Paul. The event will then move to the Minnesota State Capitol Rotunda for the keynote speech, lunch, and visits with legislators.

This year’s keynote address will be given by Rt. Rev. James Jelinek, Bishop of Episcopal Diocese of Minnesota.

This year's event will emphasize the unity and strength of Minnesota's faith communities as we stand up for social justice and oppose the human service cuts that were made last session.

JRLC is the largest, most inclusive interfaith public policy body in Minnesota--people of diverse faiths bringing vision and wisdom to the public realm for the well-being of all Minnesotans. It is authorized and governed by the Minnesota Catholic Conference, the Minnesota Council of Churches, the Jewish Community Relations

Council of Minnesota and the Dakotas, and the Islamic Center of Minnesota . JRLC is the instrument by which these faith communities work together on social justice issues in Minnesota.
