Lucker Lecture presentation focuses on culturally diverse communities

“Welcomed and Welcoming” available on VHS

This year’s diocesan sponsored Bishop Lucker Lecture held this past March, focused on the theme “Welcomed and Welcoming”. Presenter, Passionist priest, Father Clemente Barron, C.P., addressed the issue of culturally diverse communities right here in the Diocese of New Ulm and how the population of culturally diverse Catholics is rapidly increasing. The census of 2000 revealed that there are nearly 10,000 Latinos in the fifteen counties that comprise the Diocese of New Ulm which provides an opportunity for Catholic communities to reach out to those in need, to genuinely welcome those who are new to the country, and to become profoundly enriched in the process.

Fr. Barron’s Bishop Lucker Lecture presentation is available on video from the diocesan Office of Communications/Media Resource Center. Call (507) 233-5330; or email: jweicherding@dnu.org.
