Everything
is “swine” and dandy at Holy Redeemer School in Marshall
Last October and November,
the students of Holy Redeemer School in Marshall took on a challenge by Holy
Redeemer pastor, Fr. Jeremy Kucera. The challenge was
to help with buying school supplies for the children of the Diocese of New Ulm
Mission Parish in San Lucas Toliman in Guatemala by
filling up a "two foot" high Pepsi bottle with silver coins.
If the students successfully
met this challenge, Father Kucera and school faculty
promised to kiss
a pig!
By April, the children had
met the challenge with a total of $761.79 retrieved from the Pepsi bottle.
Additional funds were also donated for a grand total of $1,142.99.
Father Kucera
fulfilled his promise of kissing a pig at the school talent show on Wednesday,
May 25.
