Spring is busy time in Winsted!
——— Service Day ———
Holy Trinity School hosted a spring service day, with students and teachers
going out into the community to do service projects for individuals and businesses
in the community on April 22.
"April 22 was Earth Day so we tried to tie the two days together," said Elaine Kahle, Holy Trinitys service coordinator. "Businesses and individuals from the community do so much for us and our school, this is one small way that we can say thank you for all the support they give us," Kahle said.
Students were busy throughout the entire city of Winsted cleaning parks, roadside ditches, and the bank, as well as doing spring cleanup for several individuals and local lake landings. Students also volunteered services at some businesses.
"It was a great day. Students collectively performed 750 hours of service, and look forward to doing something like this again next year," Kahle said.
——— Back to the Fifties ———The auction made a profit of $40,000, the best auction profit that Holy Trinity has had in its 19-year auction history.
Holy Trinity students worked very hard and supported their school by serving the meal dressed in '50s attire. There was an Elvis impersonator who mingled with the crowd and posed for pictures with guests.
