Spicer parish receives refreshing sense of renewal when it comes to parenthood

Families of Our Lady of the Lakes parish in Spicer were honored with the presence of Dr. Nicholas Abraham as he presented his Parentheart and Familyheart program.

Dr. Abraham travels the country giving his powerful message to families using lectures and song. ParentHeart is directed to the adults and addresses giving children choices within limits and holding them responsible for their choices. He draws on life experiences to teach forgiveness, patience, and acceptance. His sense of humor toward each lesson offered a refreshing sense of renewal in parenthood. The second part of the series, FamilyHeart, included the whole family as well as the church choir.

Dr. Abraham was able to intertwine his soulful rendition of Christian music into his program inspiring his audience to sing with confidence and joy. He once again focused on the many issues using comic relief and heartwarming personal experiences to enforce his message of "Child Building".

He gathered the children at his feet during the middle of his program telling them a story and allowing the children to draw the message out.

In conclusion, Fr. Fred Fink, pastor of Our Lady of the Lakes, addressed the guest speaker saying "Whatever excitement I may have left in me would surely be brought out by you, Dr. Abraham." The twinkle in Dr. Abraham’s eye is sure to warm any audience he addresses with his heartfelt message of parenting and loving your children.
