Marriage rally held on the steps of State Capitol
Paul and Donita Platz from Lafayette, representing Worldwide Marriage Encounter, attended the Marriage Rally on the steps of the State Capitol in St. Paul on Monday, March 22. Thousands of people from all walks of life and many faith denominations showed their support for marriage between one man and one woman. The rally encouraged our state representatives to allow the people of the state of Minnesota to vote on a constitutional amendment that would define marriage as "between one man and one woman". The majority of the House of Representatives support the effort to put the initiative on the November ballot. Senate leadership opposes the legislation.
The Catholic expression of Worldwide Marriage Encounter supports marriage as one of the sacraments within our church. Weekend experiences promote communication within marriages and explores how married couples are an important part of the church as a whole.
