Two priests of the Diocese of New Ulm to retire from active ministry

Fr. James E. Moran

A retirement farewell party for Fr. James E. Moran will be held Sunday, June 22, 2003 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at the St. George Parish Center, West Newton Township located at the intersection of Hwy. 16 and Co. Rd. 5. The party is being hosted by St. Gregory the Great Parish in Lafayette and St. George Parish, West Newton Township. All are invited to attend.

Fr. Moran was Ordained to the Priesthood on February 22, 1959 at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, New Ulm by Bishop Alphonse J. Schladweiler.

His first assignment was at St. Philip’s, Litchfield as Associate Pastor. Other assignments include: Associate Pastor at St. Mary’s, Willmar; Pastor at Visitation, Swan Lake; St. Nicholas, Middle Lake; St. Anne, Wabasso; St. James, Nassau; St. Clara, Clara City; Sacred Heart, Raymond, and St. Andrew, Granite Falls. Since 1993, Fr. Moran has been Pastor at St. Gregory the Great, Lafayette and St. George, West Newton Township. During his active ministry, Fr. Moran assisted in the Marriage Tribunal and Priest Personnel Board.

 

Fr. Germain P. Rademacher

A retirement farewell party for Fr. Germain P. Rademacher will be held Sunday, June 22, 2003 beginning with a 9:30 a.m. Mass, a program at 11:00 a.m. followed by a lunch at St. Catherine Parish, 900 E. Flynn St., Redwood Falls, MN. All are invited to attend.

Fr. Rademacher was Ordained to the Priesthood on February 23, 1958 at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, New Ulm by Bishop Alphonse J. Schladweiler. Fr. Rademacher, along with the late Fr. Darold Lehman, were the first ordinations in the Diocese of New Ulm.

His first assignment was at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, New Ulm as Associate Pastor. Other assignments include: Pastor at St. Gertrude, Forest City; St. Gregory, Lafayette; St. George, West Newton Township; St. Francis de Sales, Winthrop; Visitation, Brighton; St. Anastasia, Hutchinson; St. Mary, New Ulm; St. John, Morton. Since 1995, Fr. Rademacher has been Pastor at St. Catherine, Redwood Falls. He also serves as Sacramental Minister at St. John, Morton.

During his active ministry, Fr. Rademacher served as Vice Chancellor and Chancellor of the Diocese; Vicar General; Coordinator of Diocesan Staff; Director of Priest Personnel; Assistant Director of the Catholic Rural Life Conference; Associate Judge for the Diocesan Tribunal; and Director of the Propagation of Faith.
