The morning keynote speaker was Reverend Daniel Durken, OSB, from the Abbey at St. John’s University who spoke to Convention participants about "Women and the Ministry of Evangelization."

In the afternoon, keynote speaker, Sr. Mary Charles Mayer, RSM, Associate Director of Communications for the Diocese of New Ulm, spoke on "Following Christ, the Perfect Communicator."

This was also the 13th year that the Council of Catholic Women presented the annual "Woman of the Year" award. This year’s recipient was Roselin Jonas of St. Anastasia, Hutchinson.

Recipients of this award are honored for their commitment to family, church, community and the Council of Catholic Women. Nominees are recommended by at least three members of their parish and then are anonymously evaluated and voted on by members of the DCCW Board.

Next year’s Convention will be held on April 24, 2004 in Winsted.
