Fr. Sprigler to celebrate 25th anniversary

Father Bill Sprigler will celebrate his 25th anniversary of ordination to the priesthood on Sunday, June 11, 2000, with a 1 p.m. Mass at St. Andrew, Granite Falls, MN, followed by a reception from 2-5 p.m.

Father Bill was ordained on June 1, 1975, in Victoria, TX, by Archbishop Francis Fury. In 1983 he interned at Holy Rosary, North Mankato. In 1984, he served as director of the diocesan Office of Priests’ Personnel and also as pastor of St. Mary, Cottonwood and St. Isidore, Clarkfield. In 1985, in addition to serving as director of the Office of Priests’ Personnel, he was appointed supervisor for the Pastoral Administrators of the Diocese of New Ulm and also pastor of Japanese Martyrs, Leavenworth. Father Bill was incardinated into the Diocese of New Ulm on March 28, 1988. That following September, he became administrator of St. Catherine, Redwood Falls in addition to serving at Leavenworth and Priests’ Personnel. In January 1989, he was appointed as parochial administrator at St. Thomas, Sanborn in addition to his other duties. In June 1989, he served as pastor of Holy Redeemer, Marshall. In 1992, he was appointed parochial administrator of SS. Peter and Paul in Ivanhoe and St. John Cantius in Wilno, while continuing to be pastor in Marshall. In 1993, he served as pastor of St. Anthony, Watkins, while continuing to serve as pastor at Holy Redeemer, Marshall. In 1995, he was appointed pastor of St. Andrew, Granite Falls and Sacramental Minister for St. Clara, Clara City. In 1996, he was appointed to College of Consultors. In 1997, he became pastor of St. Clara, Clara City, while continuing as pastor in Granite Falls. In 1998, while continuing as pastor at Granite Falls, he became sacramental minister at Clara City.
