Open house to honor Fr. Paul A. Schumacher

 

Rev.  Paul A. Schumacher will celebrate his  45th  Anniversary to the Priesthood on Sunday, February 18, 2007 with a Mass of Thanksgiving at the Church of St. Philip, 821 East Fifth Street in Litchfield at 2:00 p.m. followed by an Open House Reception from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. The program will be hosted by Srs. Kay O’Neill and Michelle Meyers.  Everyone is welcome.

 

Fr. Schumacher was ordained to the priesthood for the Diocese of New Ulm on February 18, 1962 at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm by Bishop Alphonse J. Schladweiler.

 

He currently serves as pastor at St. Philip, Litchfield. For more than 25 years he has served as Director of AIDS Ministry for the Diocese of New Ulm.

In 1987, Fr. Schumacher received the Diocesan Distinguished Award for his 25 years of priestly ministry and for his pastoral direction in religious education, youth ministry, campus ministry and AIDS Ministry.
