Diocese of New Ulm - January 2007

First of a kind evangelization missions scheduled throughout diocese
Redemptorists to preach in all Area Faith Communities/parishes

November 18, 2007, will mark the 50th Anniversary of the establishment of the Diocese of New Ulm. As an initial step in the evangelization process that will serve as an essential aspect of the upcoming anniversary, the schedule has been set for the Redemptorist Mission Team of Chicago, IL to preach evangelization missions in all of the Area Faith Communities and parishes in the diocese. Thirty missions – 26 in English and 4 in Spanish – will take place from January through April of 2008.

According to the Redemptorist Fathers, the Diocese of New Ulm will be the first diocese in the
United States to conduct missions in all of its parishes at the same time. The Diocese of Portland in Maine, which has followed New Ulm’s organization of parishes into Area Faith Communities, is also scheduling similar evangelization missions. Liguori Publications, a Redemptorist media ministry, is interested in studying and observing the New Ulm experience to see how other parishes across the country might benefit.
