DCCW Woman of the Year Award

2006 nominations now being accepted

The l5th annual New Ulm Diocesan Council of Catholic "Woman of the Year" award will again be given this year as a way for CCW to recognize an outstanding woman in the New Ulm diocese.

 

The award recipient will be one who has carried on the mission of Christ through her family, church, community and the Council of Catholic Women. This award also serves as a way to promote and emphasize the great works of CCW.

 

The award will be presented at the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women Convention to be held this year at the Church of St. Catherine in Redwood Falls on April 22, 2006.

 

If you know of a woman in the New Ulm diocese that would qualify for this award, you are encouraged to submit a recommendation. All nominees must be 18 years or older, Catholic and registered in a New Ulm diocese parish, a member of a paid affiliate of the New Ulm Diocesan Council of Catholic Women, and is not a past recipient.

 

Three or more members of a parish CCW in good standing (paid affiliate) must submit the name of the nominee. Parishes may submit more than one name.

 

Current diocesan CCW voting board members and past recipients are not eligible.

 

Nominations must be presented on the official recommendation form to be eligible and must be limited to one-page (hand-written or typed). All others will be returned to be redone and resubmitted.

 

Nominees will be judged on  family commitment including education of her children in faith, prayer and virtues; providing moral, physical and spiritual support to parents, etc; how she has participated in church activities, committees, and needs; her involvement in community activities, committees and needs; and how active she has been in the Council of Catholic Women on all levels as well as the years she has been active in CCW.

 

Recommendation Forms for 2006 and the Rules for Recommendation Form can be obtained from affiliated parish CCW presidents.
