Family retreat plans are underway
by JoAnn Borchert
A diocesan family retreat is being planned for Sunday, February 4, 2001. The theme of the retreat is "Journey in Faith Together." The presenter for the day will be Mary Lee Becker, trainer, author, and consultant. Mary Lee was in the New Ulm diocese this fall to present some workshops for leaders. Mary Lee speaks all over the United States on issues relating to teens. The retreat will be for parents and 6-12th grade youth. It will be held in Renville, MN, at the Renville Community Center, located downtown Renville, from 1:00-5:00 p.m.
The focus of the retreat day will be on sharing stories of faith and exploring and discovering faith as a family. It always seems that better communication in the family is important to good growth and that our faith experiences are an integral part of who we are as people of the New Ulm diocese. You may find this as a good preparation for Lent as well.
Further information and registration flyers will be available in each parish. They will be sent to Youth Ministers and Directors of Religious Education. You must register in advance as there is limited seating available. The cost of the afternoon retreat is $5.00 per person if registered by January 26, 2001. This retreat is sponsored by the diocesan Offices of Youth and Young Adult Ministry and Religious Education and Adult Religious Education.
JoAnn Borchert is the Director of Religious Education for the Diocese of New Ulm.
