How important everyone of us is to God! The parable of the Prodigal Son brings out God’s great joy over the repentance and salvation of even one sinner.

Each one of us knows someone who is very difficult to love.

Ask for the grace today to let the God who is present in our being be fully present in our human interactions and free us to be compassionate, forgiving, and caring.

Spend time daily with Jesus to understand what it is that we are called to be.

Few of us will be called to demonstrate our love for one another by dying for other as Jesus did. But, death takes many forms: being generous when others do not reciprocate; forgiving for the 100th time; being patient in the face of others’ indifference; listening as others ramble incessantly; being compassionate and loving - even when others do not love in return.

O good and gracious God, you shower me with your countless blessings.

Is the problem really that we do not hear God’s voice, or that we do not heed God’s voice?

Our busyness prevents us from hearing the gentle invitation of the Spirit. At other times, we let our fears harden our inner ears, and the doorway to our hearts.

How has the Spirit been calling me to a deeper relationship with God?
