Too many cooks in the kitchen - St. Michael, Gaylord, dedicates new facility!

Parishioners at St. Michael Church in Gaylord gathered after Mass recently to bless the new addition to their kitchen and to celebrate its completion with a potluck dinner. Four guests from Brazil, hosted by the Gaylord Rotary Club, joined the festivities and performed a song in Portuguese.

The $15,000 project, spearheaded by the parish’s Council of Catholic Women, was completely funded by the parish with donations of time, materials, and money. Planning on the project, which expanded the kitchen 6 feet, had begun more than two years before the work began. CCW members noted that the Diocesan Building Committee worked with them to help improve their original plans.

"It’s wonderful how the project brought the parish together," Trudy Nesvig said, representing the CCW. "We hope to have many more potlucks and parish gatherings."
