Vocation Fair’s underway

Winsted prototype for new format

Winsted, MN - Students at Holy Trinity School in Winsted learned more about priestly and religious life during a recent Vocations Fair.

Sponsored by the New Ulm Diocesan Office of Vocations, the day began with an all school rosary led by parish pastor, Fr. Paul Wolf.

Prior to the rosary, Fr. Paul had all the guests introduce themselves and define their specific vocations. Students, grades K-12,  then divided into small groups where they listened to both male and female presenters share their vocational journey and how they came to know God's call in their life. Many of the sisters shared that they had no idea when they were younger that they would become a sister.  Fr. Jeremy Kucera from Marshall shared that he first began considering the priesthood when he was a junior at Holy Trinity High School.

Students then moved back to their own classroom for discussion which enabled them to “unpack” what they had heard and write down their own feedback and assessments.

This four-step process is a new format being tried in the diocese for the first time. Holy Trinity schools was the prototype. The next Vocation Fairs are February 15 at the Church of St. Peter, St. Peter and February 22 at the Church of St. Mary, Willmar.
