Still
time to register for Bishop Lucker Lecture
Registrations are still being
taken for the third annual Bishop Raymond A. Lucker
Lecture to be held on Thursday, March 3, 2005, at St. Mary Church in Willmar, from 7:30 to 8:45 p.m. The topic of this year’s lecture is “Welcomed
and Welcoming” presented by Fr. Clemente Barron, C.P., a Passionist priest
from San Antonio. Fr. Barron has an extensive
background in Hispanic Ministry and is currently serving as the Province
Vocation Director for his community.
As the population of
culturally diverse Catholics increases in the Diocese of New Ulm, it is
important to reflect on our own experiences of "being welcomed" so
that we can become "more welcoming" to those who are new in our
midst. Because of the significance of
Fr. Barron’s message, there will be no charge for
attending this lecture.
The evening will conclude
with the presentation of the 2005 Diocesan Distinguished Service Awards which
will be presented to the recipients by Bishop John C. Nienstedt.
Participants are asked to
pre-register so that seating and refreshments can be planned. To register
contact the Diocesan Pastoral Center, 1400 6th Street North, New Ulm, MN 56073;
phone: (507) 359-2966; fax: (507) 354-3667; or e-mail: dnu@dnu.org.
