Junior High Rally a success!

approximately 700 youth gather to celebrate their faith

The 15th annual Diocesan Junior High Youth Rally was held November 6, 2005 at New London-Spicer High School. Close to 700 youth and five priests gathered with Bishop Nienstedt to celebrate. The Diocesan Youth Council and the NET team worked together with Our Lady of the Lakes Church to make this annual event another success.

This year’s theme was "Come and Meet Him.” Keynote speaker was the ever popular Chris Padgett.  Paul Blaschko, a DYC member, gave a short presentation, "Confessions of a Teenage Jesus Freak" and shared his faith with the younger teens. The rally began with a karaoke and a few skits. After the speakers, kids shared a snack and joined Bishop Nienstedt for Sunday Liturgy. Subway supper and an hour dance with a DJ concluded with a prize drawing.

When asked what they thought they learned from attending the rally, sixth grader, Ashley Lager commented, “ I learned more about God and my faith.” Eighth grader, Kayla Lanoue said that she "Learned about God and how to get closer to Him.”
