Springfield youth & leaders journey to serve others

On July 6, 2003, a group of youth and adults from the Springfield area headed on a mission trip to Catholic Heart Workcamp in Denver, Colorado.

The group stopped on the way to attend the Passion Play held in an outdoor ampi-theatre before arriving at Blessed Sacrament School, their home for the week.

Participants were divided into work crews where they chose their jobs for the week. Tasks for the week varied. Some worked in daycare centers; others cleaned and organized a church, while others did yard work, some painting, wallpapering, or general cleaning.

The work was done with great joy and a feeling of accomplishment and pride in being able to serve others.

Those attending were Brandon Davis of Sanborn, Kristine Jacoby of Clements, Jerry Brezinka of Duluth with son, Patrick Schmitz of Sanborn, Beth Hauth, Landon Henriksen, Barb Knutson, Angela Meine, Ann Miesen, Jacob Miesen, Melanie Miesen, Olivia Pieschel, Sharon Pieschel, Savannah Schwartz, Amber Stafford, Amanda Voge, Nicole Voge, Fr. Dennis Labat, Pastor of St Raphael, Springfield, and Clarice Platz.
