Jubilarian’s roots trace back to Silver Lake, MN

Silver Lake, MN - It is a very rare and unusual occurrence that a parish like Holy Family of Silver Lake, MN can boast of four former girls celebrating the anniversaries of their religious profession.

On August 3, 2003, all four School Sisters of Notre Dame celebrated their 50th, 60th, and 70th years of religious life at Good Counsel in Mankato.

These Sisters were joined with 40 other Jubilarians who were honored by the community at a Eucharistic celebration and dinner at Good Counsel.

The School Sisters of Notre Dame Congregation is an international community of women committed to teaching, always working for justice, promoting respect for the earth to make a difference in the world.

Celebrating Jubiliees are: Sisters Judith (Amelia) Svoboda, 70th anniversary; Adelyn (Betty) Vokal, 50th anniversary; Celine (Adeline) Koktan, 70th anniversary and Roseanne (Catherine) Eggert, 60th anniversary all originally from Silver Lake. Sister Mary Edward (Cecilia) Grzeskowiak, who passed away in 2000, would have been the fifth Jubiliarian from Silver Lake.
