Father Lawrence Castelino of India begins pastoral ministry in diocese

We welcome Father Lawrence Castelino, SJ to the New Ulm diocese. While waiting to continue his year long sabbatical, Father Lawrence has agreed to work in the New Ulm diocese from September 27, 2000 to January 3, 2001.
Bishop Raymond A. Lucker assigned Father Castelino to assist Father Joseph Steinbeisser with priestly ministry at St. Mary parish, Willmar.
Father Castelino is a native of India where as a priest he has been a professor of history for 24 years and director of a retreat center for 3 years. He is editor and publisher of a monthly Catholic magazine to promote the Catholic faith in India. At present, he is on a one year sabbatical to become acquainted with the American culture and to do further studies in spiritual direction at Berkley Theological Center.
Fr. Francis Garvey is the Director of Priests Personnel for the Diocese of New Ulm.
