2008 Pope Benedicat XVI will make his first visit as the spiritual leader of the Catholic Church to the United States this month. The six-day trip will begin in Washington, D.C., and continue to New York City. The trip is historic, especially since the Holy Father will address the United Nations General Assembly, meet with President George Bush, and visit Ground Zero. Open Your Heart to Jesus! In Celebration of the Diocese of New Ulm's 50th anniversary, Area Faith Community Missions are being held from January-April in parish communities throughout the diocese. During this season of Lent, let us devote our time to prayer, fasting, and almsgiving which helps us focus on the mystery of redemption. Let us joyfully anticipate then celebrate, the Resurrection of Jesus and the gift of the Holy Spirit coming upon us.
