Melendez to perform in Hutchinson

funds collected will benefit St. Anastasia annual youth trip

 

Hutchinson - All are invited to an evening concert with Tony Melendez and the Toe Jam Band on April 13th from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at St. Anastasia Catholic Church, 460 Lake St. Hutchinson, MN.

 

Prior to the concert there will be a free will spaghetti dinner from 5:00- 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria followed by the concert at 7:00 p.m. Attendance at the concert is also a  free will offering.

 

The concert and spaghetti dinner is being sponsored by St. Anastasia Youth Ministry and Religious Education to raise funds for the annual parish youth trip to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area.

 

As a professional musician, Tony Melendez travels throughout the United States speaking to thousands of young people. He was born without arms and has learned to play the guitar with his feet. As a singer and composer he was asked in 1987 by the youth of Los Angeles to be their gift to Pope John Paul II when the Pope came to America for a visit. Melendez impressed Pope John Paul II as well as thousands of people during his performance. Some will remember Melendez from his performance at the New Ulm diocesan high school youth rally in 1999 in Clara City, MN.
