Area Faith Community Plan approved

As the Diocesan Plan for Parishes continues to be implemented, Bishop John C. Nienstedt is pleased to announce the approval of a new Area Faith Community Plan.

Region 5:

St. Andrew, Fairfax; Sacred Heart, Franklin; St. Willibrord, Gibbon; St. Francis De Sales, Winthrop

Word

- Enhance the present area RCIA

- Create an Area Adult Faith Formation Plan

- Explore whole community catechesis for the area

- Provide two catechist formation sessions for area catechists

Worship

- Develop, coordinate, share musical talents

- Involve youth in music and worship

- Coordinate ongoing training of liturgical ministers

- Increase opportunities for special devotions Service

- Outreach and welcome inactive members and newcomers

- Identify and list existing agencies to assist parishioners

- Reach out to area Hispanics, elderly, sick and homebound

- Establish two annual area food drives

Stewardship

- Establish an effective Area Pastoral Council

- Establish an area budgetary process

- Establish stewardship and sacrificial giving program

- Review and assess buildings and equipment
